Job Title: Finance & Administration Manager
Reports to: CEO
Department: Finance
Duty station: A4HU Kampala office

Job Purpose:
The Finance and Administration Manager will be dealing with strategic decisions and the operationalisation
of the organization.

Performance Areas/Accountabilities
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Development
 Support the development of financial policies, procedures, reporting systems and objectives that will strengthen financial management.
 Support the development of policies and structures that ensure the adherence to financial guidelines (internal guidelines like finance manual and external guidelines like legal requirements).
 Support the development and implementation of training and coaching programs for the organization.
 Support the development and implementation of financial systems and tools (e.g. dashboard) as well as the budgeting and follow-up of any financial issues at the organization.

Management

 Supervise finance and administration staff regarding finance and content-relevant areas.
 Coordinate and monitor the finance and administrative staff, including the development of clear and goals targets for the team.
 Coordinate and implement the administration and financial management policies and procedures to ensure that the organization has appropriate structures in place.
 Ensure that internal and external financial reports are submitted on time and comply with high-quality standards.
 Coordinate and support the preparation of annual and project-based financial audits
 Support the procurement process in accordance with procurement guidelines.

Qualifications/ Requirements:
 A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in BBA/B.Com (Acc) and a Master’s degree in
Accounting or MBA with a bias in accounting.
 MUST have a professional Accounting qualification ACCA or CPA.
 Should have excellent computer skills in Ms Excel, Ms Word and PowerPoint.
 Knowledge and experience in using SUN Accounting & QuickBooks Software is a Must.
 Should have at least five years of relevant work experience in an NGO with at least three years at
a managerial level.
 Should be experienced with financial regulations and reporting for major donors.

 Strong and proven financial management skills, especially with projects.
 Ability to deliver high-quality work with attention to detail and deadlines.
 Ability to solve problems creatively, multitask and learn new concepts quickly.
 Ability to work with minimum supervision.
 Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
 Ability to initiate, design and implement financial systems and control procedures.
