PLANT OPERATOR I (VEHICLE TEST DRIVER) (6 POSITIONS)

JOB SUMMARY

The Plant Operator I (Vehicle Test Driver) is responsible for driving and maintaining the assigned Production Vehicles and Production Equipment in the production and Market Validation environment in accordance with the company processes, guidelines and regulations as well as the Traffic and Road Safety Act 1998 (As Amended) and other applicable regulations.

Salary Scale:    KT6(1)

Reports to:      Plant Supervisor

Key Functions:

  1. Testing and Driving Production Vehicles and Production Equipment.
  2. Operating Mobility Energy and Technology Systems for Testing EVs and ICE Production Vehicles.
  3. Logging and Reporting test data from vehicle test and market validation drills to the supervising officer.
  4. Carrying out basic maintenance and cleaning of the Production Vehicles and Production Equipment.
  5. Reporting all Technical and Mechanical defects of the Production Vehicles and Production Equipment to the supervising officer.
  6. Observing all Health Safety and Environmental requirements during the execution of duties assigned.
  7. Preparing Monthly Work Plans and Performance Reports necessary for executing the above duties and responsibilities; and
  8. Any other duties assigned by the Company from time to time.

Person Specifications:

(a)   Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)

  1. Valid Driving License to Drive a Bus (Minimum Class/Group DE).
  2. Certificate in Defensive Driving.

(b)    Experience (Minimum Requirements)

  1. Three (3) years’ experience in Driving Medium and Heavy Duties Buses and Commercial Vehicles with knowledge of Manual, Automatic and Electric Transmission (Must Undergo a Personality Test). Experience in driving Medium to Heavy Electric Vehicles and Operating Mobility Energy and Technology Systems (Chargers and Fuel Pumps) is an added advantage.
