Job Description

The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda, under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns ALL the 33kV and below voltage electricity distribution networks in addition to the operational assets associated with the business currently leased to Umeme Ltd. Thus, the company monitors Umeme Ltd investment, distributes power in nine (9) service territories covering over 74 political districts in Uganda. UEDCL also operates the GoU pole treatment plant in Lugogo industrial area and also executes rural electrification schemes on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD). The Company is seeking to recruit qualified, competent, and highly motivated Ugandans for the following positions:

2. Job Title: Data Analysts 

Number of positions: 4

Reports to: Senor GIS Officer

Duty Station: Kampala

Purpose of the Job: To carry out compilation, cleanup and reconciliation of all Distribution System assets data, monitor and coordinate data, field assets and ongoing data capture exercise.

Key Result Areas: Supervise the ongoing field data capture exercise and take part in data collection as instructed. Provide updates to the GIS database with collected and cleaned assets data from the field and subsequently align the fixed assets data to the assets financial data/records from the Finance department. Advise the supervisor on identified asset management risks and make proposals to safe guard the network assets and others.

Qualification’s, desired skills, attributes & experience: A minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Finance/Accounting, Geographical information System (GIS) or its equivalent from a recognized university. Experience of not less than 3 years in a recognized organization in a similar position working with ESRI GIS software.
Experience in setting up and maintaining GIS systems. MUST be Excellent in using Microsoft Office, Excel and Word applications. And possess excellent analytical and monitoring skills. He/she should be ready and able to travel all over the country. Candidate must have valid driving license with driving experience of more than 3 years.
